To be an effective person of prayer, you must have a relationship with the One to whom you pray. Above all else, prayer is an opportunity to enjoy intimacy with God. Prayer is all about a relationship with Father God. God longs to have a relationship with you.
To know God is to realize we are in a covenant relationship with Him. You are His child. He is your Father. You are His bride. He is your Groom.
Luke 11:9 And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Romans: 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.
Christian meditation is practically the same as traditional forms of meditation, but it has different objectives. In Christian meditation the individual seeks to be filled, rather than in traditional meditation, where one seeks to be empty.
This method of relaxation involves focusing on the word of God. With meditation, believers seek to fill themselves with the wonder of God Truth of God, and His promises.
Christian meditators believe their meditation has greater value as they are not “reaching for nothing”. They are looking for fulfillment with God. In doing so, individuals believe they can have their desired state of peace.
The act of Christian meditation is mentioned many times in the Bible. In Joshua 1:8, God says to meditate on his word and night so we will obey it. The Bible promises many benefits from taking to think or meditated about God.
